Childcare Staff are responsible for assisting the Site Director in general supervision of the children and planning and implementing a program in accordance with goals and policies of the YMCA After school Care Program. Morning, early afternoon and evening shifts are available.  Length of shift can vary-  we also currently offer Saturday shifts.  If you want to work as a lifeguard and are currently certified call today.

Responsible for quality fitness training and member services in Adult Wellness programs.

Preschool Lead Teacher is responsible for the supervision and care of children in our preschool program. This includes providing direction for the classroom and implementing age-appropriate program curriculum, following a daily routine, completing observation reports and supervising children. This is a part-time year round position that will transition to a Teacher in our Summer Kinder Camp. This position will begin early August 2023.

  Responsibilities:

· Implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities promoting social and emotional development, as well as cognitive, cultural, education, language, and recreational activities

· Coordinate physical activity indoors and outdoors

· Use a SmartBoard and other technologies

· Maintain order and discipline, enforce rules

· Effectively communicate with parents, Aide, and all program staff

· Maintain organization with recordkeeping, attendance, academic progress

· Obtain and maintain a current CPR & First Aid certification

A Preschool Teacher’s Aide supervises children in the Preschool classes in a safe play environment in accordance with YMCA policies, practices, and safety standards. This is a part-time year round position with summer duties transitioning to a Camp Counselor if desired. This position will begin early August 2023.

Responsibilities:

· Supervise activities, read stories, sing songs, arts & crafts, and organized play for children

· Maintain order and discipline

· Assist preschool lead teacher with daily duties

· Effectively communicate with parents

· Maintain clean play area

· Prepare snacks for children

· Demonstrate the YMCA’s four core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility

· Obtain and maintain a current CPR & First Aid certification

Teach students of all ages and levels of ability to swim following the YMCA Swim Lesson Program. Responsible for teaching assigned swim groups during program sessions.

Opportunities exist ranging from a few hours a day, to daily 3-7 pm, as well as weekends during the morning.

Perfect for a 2nd job, or a few hours a week.

We are hiring for our Chestertown location. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, listening to and understanding member needs, developing relationships with members, and being knowledgeable about programs and services through the Y. Responsible for member orientation, quality fitness equipment assistance, member service, cleaning mats and equipment, and processing memberships. The hours available are Monday & Friday 8am-1pm. This position could lead into M/W/F for these times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Orient new members to the fitness facility and equipment, assist as needed
2. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants
3. Maintain CPR & First Aid certification
4. Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
5. Register participants using membership software (computer skills a must!)
6. Must have a strong interest in the health/wellness or related field
7.  Ability to articulate the YMCA mission of Caring, honor, respect, responsibility at all times
8. Ability to work independently
9.  Regular communication with members and Glens Falls Membership staff

Responsible for quality yoga instruction and member services in Adult Wellness programs.
