Aqua Workouts

Our aqua aerobics classes are scheduled at least once a day from Monday to Friday, with some days featuring more than two classes to choose from. Our experienced instructors focus on building and strengthening muscles and joints through aerobic exercises performed against the water's resistance. Our classes offer a full-body workout that targets every muscle group, leaving you feeling refreshed, energized and ready to conquer your day. Classes & Descriptions:

AQUA WORKOUT

This class is designed for those new to aquatic exercise. You will experience a low-impact aerobic workout that will get your heart pumping while also focusing on core strengthening and muscle building. Our experienced instructors will guide you through a combination of shallow and deep water exercises that will challenge your body to build stamina, flexibility and coordination. You will also enjoy the benefits of stretching and relaxation as you work on your fitness goals. Come explore the joys of aquatic exercise in a fun and supportive environment with Aqua Fitness.

AQUA HIT

Our Aqua Hit classes are perfect for those seeking a fun and challenging workout in the water. This class is suitable for beginner to intermediate levels and combines aerobic conditioning, core strengthening, stretching, and muscle building exercises to give you a full-body workout. Our experienced instructors will guide you through shallow and deep water exercises, ensuring that you get the most out of your workout. You can expect to leave feeling refreshed, energized, and stronger after this class. Join us in the water for a unique and invigorating experience that is sure to be a highlight of your week.

ADVANCED DEEP WATER AEROBICS

This class is designed for advanced levels and is perfect for those looking to take their fitness to the next level. Featuring a combination of aerobic conditioning, core strengthening, stretching, and muscle building exercises, this class offers a challenging and dynamic workout. Because this is a deep-water class, it is important that participants know how to swim before joining the class. The water's resistance adds an additional challenge to the workout, providing a high-intensity, low-impact full-body workout that is gentle on the joints while still burning calories and building strength. 

Our Instructors:

NANCY TAMM

Nancy Tamm has been working at GFY since 2006 and had taught aqua fitness for over 30 years in Virginia, California, Connecticut, and New York. Nancy is certified and has taught Pilates and spin classes. 

Nancy loves to be active; she is a 46’er who continues to hike in all seasons, a mountain biker and cross-country skier though her 1st love is swimming. Her husband Steve loves working out the GFY and recently retired as the CEO of Silver Bay YMCA.
