YMCA Adirondack Regional Wellness Center Staff

Description:
We are hiring for our Chestertown location. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, listening to and understanding member needs, developing relationships with members, and being knowledgeable about programs and services through the Y. Responsible for member orientation, quality fitness equipment assistance, member service, cleaning mats and equipment, and processing memberships. The hours available are Monday & Friday 8am-1pm. This position could lead into M/W/F for these times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Orient new members to the fitness facility and equipment, assist as needed
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants
- Maintain CPR & First Aid certification
- Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
- Register participants using membership software (computer skills a must!)
- Must have a strong interest in the health/wellness or related field
- Ability to articulate the YMCA mission of Caring, honor, respect, responsibility at all times
- Ability to work independently
- Regular communication with members and Glens Falls Membership staff

Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old
- Must have experience and a strong interest in the health/wellness or related field.
- Personal Trainer Certification preferred.
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED or ability to obtain and maintain.
- Demonstrated commitment to mission-driven programming and customer service
- Demonstrated self-motivation
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and both verbal and written communication skills
- General computer literacy
- Ability to articulate the YMCA mission and programs to staff, volunteers, members and the community
- Comfortable and confident in dealing with the general public
- Must understand and contribute to the mission of the YMCA to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
