Girls Competitive Gymnastics

The Gliders Team

Levels 2-9

The Glens Falls YMCA Gliders Team is meant to give every gymnast an opportunity to excel, not only in gymnastics, but in life.
Participation in gymnastics can lend itself to building self-esteem, self-motivation, self-discipline, dedication, determination, work ethic, time management, teamwork, team spirit, leadership, sportsmanship, adventure coupled with the ability to goal set and overcome fear, respect for others, poise and grace. At the end of our athlete’s gymnastics experience, they will have established a base of life skills they will be able to draw upon for years to come.
All of our Gliders attend both home and away meets.  We typically have 4 home meets and travel to 3-4 away meets prior to any Championship meets.  Away meet locations vary year to year but have included Saratoga, Cortland, Oneonta, Watertown as well as some locations in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Depending on the location and time of the away meets, you may also need a hotel room. We do set up hotel blocks to try to get the best possible rate at a hotel near the meet locations. Meet season runs from November to April/May depending on the dates of the Championship meets.
