COVID Positive Case at Y - No concern of spread

Dear Members,

As we continue to operate with complete transparency, we wish to inform you that the one of our members who participated in a program has tested positive for COVID. We have been in contact with the Department of Health. We have no indication that the infection was the result of their participation. Program participants have been contacted.

Due to our rigorous disinfecting procedures and other protocols that have been put into place, the Health Department is not concerned about the spread of the virus to anyone outside of the program or our general membership.

Our daily protocols, provided by New York State, include disinfecting equipment and touch points throughout the building, upgraded air filtration, wearing approved masks, social distancing (at least 6 feet apart), temperature checks and COVID health screening upon entry.

We do not have any indication that the infection was due to a visit to the YMCA.
