Sports Village

The Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area's Sports Camp is for boys and girls who are looking to learn new sports or advance in their skills in the sports they already know and love.  Campers are broken up into ages/skill levels so our Coaches can help develop their skills in the most effective way.  Campers also get to swim daily!  Are you game for Sports Camp!

 Weeks 1, 2, 3, 6, 8 will feature Community Sports Experts to give our campers some great insight on what it takes to be a great coachable athlete.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-Day: 9:00am to 4:00 pm.
  • FREE Extended Camp Time - SPARK TIME - 7:30-9:00am and 4:00-6:00pm (Breakfast served between 8:00am and 8:45am).
  • Weekly Camp Fees:
  • Members $160.00 per week (Financial Assistance Available)
  • Non-Members $199.00 per week (Financial Assistance Available)

Week 1: Basketball (June 27th-July 1st)

Dribble, shoot, score. Campers will drill and scrimmage daily. Practice and fine tune your skills.

Week 2: Soccer (July 5th-8th)

Ole! Its world cup time at Sports Camp! Campers will work on their ball control and footwork while getting to scrimmage and Soccer specific games!

Week 3: Combo (July 11th-15th)

Play a little bit of everything in Combo Week. From tossing the pigskin to drilling a slap shot, campers work on it all this week.

Week 4: Outdoor Activities (July 18th- 22nd)

This week offers a lot of recreational games outside of the norm of regular sports, Including tag games, critical thinking challenges and even some goofy games.

Week 5: Water Week (July 25th-29th)

Beat the heat with our Sports Water Week! All week campers will be playing water themed games to keep them active and cool, including water balloon competitions, wacky water relays, and even a chance to soak their favorite camp counselor.

Week 6: Ultimate Sports (August 1st-5th)

Athletes will spend the week trying both popular sports and non-traditional games such as Laser Hockey, Extreme Basketball and Ultimate Frisbee.

Week 7: Outdoor Adventure (August 8th-12th)

Athletes will have the chance to learn how to have fun with fitness is the great outdoors. All week we will be exploring the trails of Coles Woods via walking and running. We will also complete scavenger hunts and learn all about nature.

Week 8: Combo 2 (August 15th-19th)

Basketball, Soccer, Hockey and more.  Campers get a wide range of variety with this week of Sports Camp Combo Week.

Week 9: Olympic Sports (August 22nd-26th)

Campers will be broken up into even teams based on age and skill level and compete in our Sports Island Olympics.  We will take the fan favorite games of the summer and pack it all into one week as campers compete for the Gold Medal!

Week 10: Fantasy Sports (August 29th-Sept. 2nd)

This camp is dedicated to games that you rarely get to play. Games like Quiddich and Basket-Wall. Campers will get the opportunity to learn new and fantastic games.

New to Sports Camp this year is Coaches in Training

Do you have a passion for sports? Have you ever wanted to teach your skills to others?  Join our group of Coaches and help develop our up and coming athletes.  Coaches will have the opportunity to learn from YMCA trained Coaches in a variety of different sports environments.  Our Coaches will also enhance their communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
