Aqua Aerobics - Fast Pace
Water Workout I & II
We use the resistance of the water to help strengthen and tone muscles.
Also, using your own buoyancy in the water there is less stress
on muscles and joints which decrease risk of injury. Water exercise
is fun and has many added benefits. The workouts are perfect for
all ages, shapes and sizes and there is no swimming skill needed.
Everyone goes at their own pace. Great socialization programs!
- Water Workout I – Mild to intermediate paced
- Water Workout II – FASTER paced
Introduction to Water Exercise - Beginner level workout
This class is for individuals who have finished Water Physical Therapy
due to illness, accidents or surgeries. It is designed to keep you
on slow, non-aerobic water exercises.
Senior Aquafit
This is a very unique water workout class that is geared toward
the Senior Citizen 62+ and for people with special limitations and
disabilities such as arthritis or joint problems. The exercises
are much like other water exercise classes only they are slowed
down and modified to exercise all major muscle groups and joints.
For those with arthritis, water is a perfect environment for relieving
pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. You do not have to be
a YMCA member to participate.
Senior Swim
The YMCA offers recreational or lap swimming time for all seniors
age 62 and up on Fridays from 3:00–5:00pm. Please sign in
at the front desk before going to the pool. We ask that you check
with the lifeguard on duty as to which side of the pool to use.
Deep Water Walking/ Aqua jogging
Walking and exercising vertically in deep water using your own buoyancy
or with float belts may be just what you are looking to do! Using
the resistance of the water to tone and strengthen muscles, the
course is also great for respiratory and cardiovascular improvement.
