The Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area recently received a $6,000 contribution from the Adirondack Foundation – Generous Acts Fund in support of the YMCA Adirondack Outreach Center located in Brant Lake, NY.  The donation will be used for the 2018 academic-camp summer literacy program for at-risk children in kindergarten through grade 3.

At the Y, we believe all children have potential.  Programs at the YMCA Adirondack Center help youth from the Adirondack area discover who they are and what they can achieve.  Over the past five summers, this summer learning loss prevention program has helped over 140 students in the Glens Falls, Whitehall, and Brant Lake area maintain or improve their reading level.

Adirondack Foundation is a community foundation serving the Adirondack region of northeastern New York.  Its mission is to collect and invest assets from a pool of donors, research nonprofit organizations in the community that meet donor interests, and distribute the income from the funds through grants.
