During campaign time, storytellers will be talking with the community and YMCA members about the Strong Kids Campaign and the YMCA’s charitable mission. Volunteers will be soliciting donations for the campaign during this time. All proceeds from the Strong Kids Campaign provide scholarships and financial assistance for YMCA memberships and programming. The Glens Falls Family YMCA serves nearly 25,000 members and program participants in Warren, Washington, and Northern Saratoga Counties. In 2008 over $425,000 in financial assistance was awarded to over 2500 individuals. The Strong Kids Campaign helps to make the YMCA goal of no person being turned away due to an inability to pay a reality. The funds raised subsidize things like: afterschool care, summer camp, swim lessons, memberbships for adults and children, teen nights, and parenting classes. All money raised helps make our community a better place for all!
