Camp Counselors: Responsible for small groups of children. Must be able to lead various types of activities (sports, crafts, music, drama, swimming, team building.) Positions available working with ages 3-14.
- Branch location: Glens Falls.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have and/or maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Must be able to take direction and take initiative.
- Experience working with children strongly preferred.

Unit Directors: Responsible for the safety/supervision 30-60 children within a unit, and 3-6 counselors within the unit. Responsible for planning and implementing camp program. Our most experienced, knowledgeable, and capable staff members fill this role. Positions available working with ages 3-14.

- Must be at least 20 years of age.
- Must have and/or maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Camp experience or substantial experience working with children required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.

AQUATICS
Aqua Fit Instructors: Water Fitness classes include Aqua Lattes, Aqua Jogging, Aqua Zumba and Aqua Aerobics.

- Must have current American Red Cross CPR Adult/Child/Infant with AED & First Aid certifications

Swim Instructors: Teach students of all ages and levels of ability to swim following the YMCA Swim Lesson Program. Responsible for lesson plans and teaching assigned swim groups during a 7-8 week program session.

Swim Team Coach: The Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area swim team (Gators) swims in the North Country Swim League and competes in both YMCA and USA Swimming venues. We have a growing age group program with approximately 75 swimmers. The qualified candidate will report to the head swim coach and assist in working primarily with the three oldest age groups, ranging in age from 12 to 18. This coach will work with the team 8 to 12 hours a week and attend approximately 12 to 16 swim meets a year. Some day travel is required to local swim meets. There will be 3 to 4 overnight travel meets. Ongoing training and maintenance of swimming and safety certifications is required.

CHILDCARE
After School Club Site Directors 2011-2012 School Year: Responsible for overall management of a Site including staff, children and families.
- After School Club sites are located in 10 area schools: Abe Wing, Argyle, Big Cross, Hadley Luzerne, Hudson Falls, Jackson Heights, Kensington, Lake George, Queensbury Elementary and Intermediate
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- AS degree in Early Childhood, Recreation, or related field OR high school diploma (or its equivalent) and 2 years direct experience with children under 13
- Friendly personality, ability to provide leadership for other staff as well as for participants, stability, and flexibility required
- $9.00-$10.50/hour

After School Club Recreation Leaders 2011-2012 School Year: Responsible for assisting the Site Director in general supervision and management of a site.

GYMNASTICS
Girls Team coach: Supervise and instruct Gymnastics Team program participants in alignment with the YMCA mission of building a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Help develop girls’ team and programs.
- Branch location: Glens Falls
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Experience supervising and working with children.
- Experience working with levels 4-6 required, level 7-10 preferred.
- YMCA Gymnastics Instructor or USAG PDP1 Certification preferred.
- USAG Safety Certification required (will train).
- Ability to spot and teach skills and progressions for team levels as well as create lesson plans.
- Must be responsible, a team player and have strong leadership qualities.
- Coach about 5 hours per week, plus meets. Opportunity to teach boys classes 1-5 hrs/wk on average.
- $10-15/hr depending on experience.
