AQUATICS
Aqua Fit Instructors: Water Fitness classes include Aqua Lattes, Aqua Jogging and Aqua Aerobics.
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Ability to teach aqua fitness to all ages required
- Must have current American Red Cross CPR Adult/Child/Infant with AED & First Aid certifications
- Pay is commensurate with experience
- Accepting applications on an ongoing basis
Lifeguards: Ensure safety of all members and program participants in the pool area
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguard, Community First Aid, and CPR for Professional Rescuers with AED certifications
- $7.25-$7.75 commensurate with experience

Swim Instructors: Teach students of all ages and levels of ability to swim following the YMCA Swim Lesson Program. Responsible for lesson plans and teaching assigned swim groups during a 7-8 week program session.
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have current American Red Cross CPR Adult/Child/Infant with AED and First Aid certifications
- Ability to demonstrate skills
- $7.25-$7.50 commensurate with experience

CHILDCARE
After School Club Site Directors 2010-2011 School Year: Responsible for overall management of a Site including staff, children and families.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- AS degree in Early Childhood, Recreation, or related field OR high school diploma (or its equivalent) and 2 years direct experience with children under 13
- Friendly personality, ability to provide leadership for other staff as well as for participants, stability, and flexibility required
- $9.00-$10.50/hour
- Weekdays; hours vary by site depending on school dismissal time
- Sites with Fall openings include: Argyle; Glens Falls City Schools (Sanford Street)
After School Club Recreation Leaders 2010-2011 School Year: Responsible for assisting the Site Director in general supervision and management of a site.
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have experience working with children under 13
- Warm and friendly personality required
- $7.25-$7.50/hour
- Weekdays; hours vary by site depending on school dismissal time
- Sites with Fall openings include: Argyle; Glens Falls City Schools (Kensington Road, Jackson Heights; Queensbury Intermediate; Queensbury Elementary
Kids Corner Aides: Supervise children ages 8 weeks to 10 years in a safe play environment in accordance with YMCA policies, practices and safety standards.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must model good character and have a warm and friendly personality.
- Must have experience working with and relating to children.
- Ability to communicate with others and work in a team unit required.
- $7.25/hour
- Shifts available Monday–Saturday 8am-1pm / Monday-Friday 3:30-8pm / Sunday 9am-1pm
GYMNASTICS
Girls Team coach: Supervise and instruct Gymnastics Team program participants in alignment with the YMCA mission of building a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Help develop girls’ team and programs.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Experience supervising and working with children.
- Experience working with levels 4-6 required, level 7-10 preferred.
- YMCA Gymnastics Instructor or USAG PDP1 Certification preferred.
- USAG Safety Certification required (will train).
- Ability to spot and teach skills and progressions for team levels as well as create lesson plans.
- Must be responsible, a team player and have strong leadership qualities.
- Coach about 5 hours per week, plus meets. Opportunity to teach boys classes 1-5 hrs/wk on average.
- $10-15/hr depending on experience.
Gymnastics Instructors: Supervise and instruct lower level Gymnastics classes.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience teaching gymnastics to youth required.
- Good technical knowledge and spotting skills required.
- Must have a desire to share knowledge and the ability to incorporate character values into programming.
- $8.00-$12.00/hour
- Shifts available weeknights and Saturday mornings – teach one or several classes per week.
MAINTENANCE
Custodians: Clean Locker Rooms and Restrooms as well as other areas of the facility as needed, launder towels and clean glass
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• $8.00/hour
• Shifts available: Saturday/Sunday 1PM-9PM and Thursday/Friday 4PM-11PM
MEMBER SERVICES
Member Service Representatives: Responsibilities include greeting and scanning members in at the front desk, processing member and program registrations, and providing excellent customer service both in person and over the phone.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a friendly personality and good communication skills.
- Customer service experience required, reception or hospitality experience preferred.
- Excellent computer and phone skills required.
- Must be able to multi-task and handle a fast-paced front desk environment.
- $8.00-$8.50/hr
- Shifts available: Weekdays 7:30AM – 3:30PM and alternate weekends / Weekdays 11AM – 4PM
- Back Door shifts available: Fridays 3-7PM and alternate Saturdays 8AM-12PM
PERFORMING ARTS
Ballet Instructor: Supervise and lead program participants in a dance program that promotes the YMCA mission of building a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Experience and background in child supervision.
- Ability to instruct dance skills and progressions and create lesson plans.
- Ability to teach all levels of ability.

Wellness Center Assistant: Responsible for Wellness Center orientations, quality fitness instruction, member service, cleaning mats and equipment, and presenting a positive attitude toward the YMCA, its staff, and its programs.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Must have experience and a strong interest in the health/wellness or related field.
- Must obtain/maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Must have knowledge of signs of exercise-induced distress.
- Must be comfortable and confident in dealing with the general public.
- Must have experience working with Windows operating systems.
- Certification with ACE, ACSM, or other approved nationally accredited organizations are preferred.
- Must understand and contribute to the mission of the YMCA to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
- $8.00-$8.25/hour
- Shifts available: Weekdays 4PM-10PM
YOUTH WELLNESS
Soccer, Football and Toddler Sports Coaches/Instructors: Teach a variety of sports to groups of youth ages 3-14yrs. If you are knowledgeable in a wide range of recreational activities, have a great attitude, and are highly dependable, this job is perfect for you!
- Minimum 16 years of age.
- Must have 1-2 years practical experience and a strong interest in children’s health/wellness or related field.
- Must have and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Must be alert and aware of signs of exercise-induced distress.
- Must be well organized and prepared to teach classes and/or organize activities for youth in the wellness center.
- Must be in good physical condition to teach a class of eight or more youth in exercise activities.
- Must be able to think independently and develop an outline for teaching specific exercise classes.
- Must be able to adjust to a variety of fitness levels and be able to offer modifications if needed.
- Ability to model the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility required.
- $8.24/hr
- Classes begin Fall 2010 and run 3:30PM-6:PM (Soccer, Football) / 9:30AM-12:00PM (Toddler Sports)
